These Kokeshi dolls represent the Emperor and Empress and we display them for Hinamatsuri (Girls' Day) to celebrate for young girls’ growth and happiness on March 3rd every year in Japan.

This beautiful Japanese wooden doll, Kokeshi is made in Gunma prefecture, Japan, and created by Usaburo Okamoto who kept a Japanese tradition but invented new styles of making and appreciated by many people around the world.
