Chasen - Shin

This beautiful Chasen is made by the master, Chikumeido Sabun who is the 24th generation of the Chasen family, carrying over 500 years of history and techniques.
He uses local, 100% natural and chemical-free bamboo.

The process begins with cutting raw bamboo in half and splitting it into 80 sections. Each piece, inside and outside, is shaped into 160 delicate tips. Skilled artisans carefully shave the corners of each thin tip one by one, completing every step of this intricate handcrafted process with precision.
